Foundation and Vision
The vision for the International Medical Center was first conceived in 1993, inspired by the growing need for a new model of private healthcare within the Kingdom. The founder, Dr Walid Fitaihi set out to establish an institution that would align global best practices with local values while addressing the evolving needs of patients and the community.
From its inception, IMC was designed to be more than a hospital. The goal was to build a healthcare institution capable of delivering advanced medical care while also contributing to the broader development of healthcare standards, medical education, and patient experience in the region.
To bring this vision to life, the International Medical Center Company was formally established in 2002, marking the beginning of the development of a purpose-built tertiary care hospital in Jeddah.
Our History
Following years of planning, design, and development, IMC opened as a fully integrated tertiary care hospital and was officially inaugurated in 2006. This represented an important milestone in the advancement of private healthcare in Saudi Arabia.
Since its establishment, IMC has continued to evolve in response to medical advancements and the changing needs of patients. Over the years, the organization has expanded its clinical and surgical services, invested in advanced medical technologies, achieved leading national and international accreditations, established collaborations with globally recognized healthcare institutions, and developed specialized centers and outpatient facilities.
